One thing I am NOT crafty at is gardening. I’m a plant killer. 🙁 I’m always in awe of gorgeous gardens and flower beds designed by avid gardeners, but I simply don’t have the gift. That doesn’t stop me from dreaming, though! I may be clueless when it comes to gardening and flower beds, but […]
It’s the third Monday of April, and that means its time for another #CraftRoomDestashChallenge post! This is sort of a version of a de-stash, anyway. I’ve been hoarding piles and piles of picture frames and other knickknacks for – I kid you not – at least nine months with the intention of updating my very […]
I have an obsession with HGTV. I love getting inspiration from professional designers on how to arrange my furniture, or decorate a mantel. . . what colors or patterns to mix and what to avoid. . .generally, how do I want my space to look? Some days, I feel like I need all the […]

Ok, hands in the air if you are one of those people that loves fall, mostly or partly due to it being an acceptable time for pumpkin EVERYTHING!! Are your hands up? (C’mon, you know you are!) Pumpkin spice everything has become something of a pop culture humor point, but it is definitely true, […]
I love to decorate for the fall, and over the years I’ve collected a lovely assortment of pumpkins to decorate with each year. Check out my home tour and different ways to arrange pumpkin decor! I’m pretty lame about carving pumpkins for Halloween, but I still love decorating with pumpkins come fall. I’ve collected several different […]
Most of the time our movie nights are fairly basic, the typical popcorn sort of deal. Every now and then, though, I like to make it a little more special – and a new movie is a great excuse for a little something extra. I grabbed some necessities for a delicious sweet and salty snack bar – Ghostbusters themed of course!
I’m pretty sure coffee is universally beloved; how many of you are soooo much happier after your first cup in the morning? Mmmm, the smell of coffee brewing alone is enough to put a smile on my bleary-eyed face.
I decided to add a bit of decor to my coffee corner, since we use it every day. Why not make it prettier? I also wanted to celebrate the fun pack of Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods that I’d recently received! Who doesn’t love having Starbucks at home?
With a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, I netted myself a small framed chalkboard and got to work.
It’s time for another Thrift Store Upcycle Challenge!! I’ve paired up with an amazing group of talented ladies to bring you a monthly thrift store challenge. Each month we will create a new home decor piece from an item(s) we’ve found at a thrift store, yard sale, resale shop etc. There is no budget or specific theme so we are free […]

No joke here, guys, this project has taken me the longest to finish of any project I’ve ever started. We found this buffet, already professionally stripped, in an antique shop downtown shortly after we closed on our first home. Solid wood and beautifully carved, it was a steal. We bought it and set it in our garage until I could get to work on it. Being nine months pregnant, that took a while….
I have had a hard time deciding my fall decor this year. I’ve been fighting between fall and Halloween decor and couldn’t decide what to do. So I did both. I’d like to introduce you to my REVERSIBLE Fall and Halloween Wreath. I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I grabbed on old […]
I don’t know about you, but I am constantly finding myself caught up in the words to my favorite songs. Music just has a wonderful way of speaking to the soul, don’t you think? Okay, that was a bit poetic for me, but I mean how often do songs bring back memories for you? I […]
Have you ever watched HGTV and wanted to ask questions? What if you got to ask an HGTV contractor all about home renovations and insider tips? I did! While Sailing with the Scotts last year, I had the chance to meet several fun people, including Tracy, the contractor for the show Brother vs Brother, with the Property […]
You guys, my bathroom has been in DIRE need of a makeover. I haven’t touched it much, since renovations on the big scale are sort of out of our budget right now. However, it is still painful to walk in to that boring, builders basic bathroom everyday. If I can’t expand and update my shower, […]
So a few weeks ago, just a random Saturday, I found myself on the phone with Drew Scott, one-half of the very popular Property Brothers. …wait, what? Did I read that right? Sometimes I’m still surprised myself! Photo Credit Okay, so allow me to explain how this amazing interview with Drew Scott came about: Last November […]
