Is there anything as wonderful as the delicious pairing of wine and cheese?? …Trick question. Of course not!! One of my favorite things to set up for any party or get-together is a cheese platter. I.ADORE.CHEESE. Any kind! Hard cheeses, soft cheeses, stinky and mild. . . is it cheese? Then I’ll eat it!
Normally when we have a boys sleepover at our house, we just rely on the basement playroom and various toys to keep the kids occupied until closer to bedtime when we usually go the movie-and-popcorn route. Since it was a sleepover/birthday party, I decided to make things a little more festive. A quick trip to Walmart and less than $20 worth of supplies and my imagination got to work.

So I know with my original post for my Disneyland Party How To Series, I said a week’s worth of posts. Well, I wasn’t kidding around, you’re going to get a whole lot more before this is over! I just didn’t anticipate some issues popping up that kept it from being a solid week straight. […]
You guys, Halloween is RIGHT.AROUND.THE.CORNER. Say Wha????
I don’t know about you, but between costumes (which I even DIY usually), and candy, Halloween can be an expensive holiday. This year I decided to cheat.
I’m still working on our costumes (post to come later), but I’ve already stocked my candy supply, and it looks MIGHTY pretty. See, I sort of set up a serve yourself “Candy Bar”.
This would work out awesome for a Halloween party, less so for trick-or-treaters. I set it up for decoration and to let the family know “HANDS OFF!!!” until Halloween, so it will double as both decoration and Halloween candy. DIY Halloween Candy “Bar” for the WIN!!
If I have to live with it for a few more weeks, it better be pretty! (And if I have to feed a hundred trick or treaters, it better be cost-effective! Amiright??)
Off to Wal-mart I go.
Welcome back to the second day of my Disneyland Party Series! Today I’m sharing with you the adorable Disney birthday outfit I made for H for his first birthday party. I had originally searched Storenvy and Etsy for costumes, fearing I wouldn’t have the time or the patience to craft one of my own. However, […]

Yes, we had originally been planning for another Avengers Party per his request, but shortly after I did all my fun […]

I’m sure someday soon I’ll stop feeling like each party has to be […]
A long time ago, in one of my first ever blog posts, I showed how I had hand-painted a wine glass as a 30th birthday present for my best friend. She was being surprised with a trip to Las Vegas (where we lived at the time) to visit us and celebrate the milestone event. I’d […]
After the success of J’s Nemo Birthday Party for his third birthday, I knew I had to come up with something just as fun for his fourth birthday. This time, I decided to ask J what he wanted his birthday to be like. The answer? “Avengers Birthday Party!!!” *denotes affiliate link Yeah, I probably […]

With only a few days left before Halloween, it seems like a perfect time for another Crafty Quickie! This Toilet Paper Mummy Wreath certainly fits the bill! If you’re struggling for some fun door decor, this couldn’t be easier. Best of all – you can REUSE the wreath for other holidays! I used a […]
This past week, my son turned three. We lived in Vegas the last five years, and flew home to help celebrate his first birthday, but couldn’t make it back for his second birthday. Having moved back home two months ago, I was VERY excited about hosting his third birthday. Finally, a party I could host, […]
My husband and I met and married in our favorite city in the world, the city where we both “grew up” – Chicago. When a fantastic job opportunity moved us west to Las Vegas, we initiated what became a tradition during our five year stint there – a traditional, Chicago style BBQ. FOOD The […]
