This coming weekend, I’ll be hosting my son’s 7th birthday party, which he has requested to be Super Mario themed. So this month’s Crafty Destash Challenge gave me a golden opportunity to create some Super Mario party decorations ahead of time! Woo-hoo for less procrastination! *Post contains affiliate links. My boys are both huge fans of the Pixar CARS movies, and I had a BLAST making this Radiator Springs birthday cake for my youngest! Now, I will be the first to admit that I do not bake, nor do I create fancy cake decor. I’ve always hired out for that, when and if needed. […]
Summer is such a bright, cheerful time of the year, and it means different things to different people. For me, summer means bbqs, campfires, the smell of freshly cut grass, and . . . birthday party prep. Both of my boys have summer birthdays, and it seems just when I finish planning and executing the first one, it’s time for the next party planning. I used to go really elaborate and crazy in my decorations and prep, but after so many years, I’m dialing it back. I still want my parties to look impressive, just with much less effort!
Recently, my aunt hosted an Easter brunch, and requested a dish from each family member in a potluck sort of deal. I was given charge of bringing an appetizer. Sure! No problem! Oh wait….I have zero cooking imagination. My cousin has hosted NYE soirees and similar fêtes with the most delicious and precious little tiny […]
We threw a Mardi Gras party for my mom’s sixtieth birthday a few months ago, and I wish I had some of these ideas handy then! If you have a love of New Orleans and the festivities of Mardi Gras, then you will definitely want these Mardi Gras party ideas on hand during your […]
Most of the time our movie nights are fairly basic, the typical popcorn sort of deal. Every now and then, though, I like to make it a little more special – and a new movie is a great excuse for a little something extra. I grabbed some necessities for a delicious sweet and salty snack bar – Ghostbusters themed of course!
Is there anything as wonderful as the delicious pairing of wine and cheese?? …Trick question. Of course not!! One of my favorite things to set up for any party or get-together is a cheese platter. I.ADORE.CHEESE. Any kind! Hard cheeses, soft cheeses, stinky and mild. . . is it cheese? Then I’ll eat it!
Normally when we have a boys sleepover at our house, we just rely on the basement playroom and various toys to keep the kids occupied until closer to bedtime when we usually go the movie-and-popcorn route. Since it was a sleepover/birthday party, I decided to make things a little more festive. A quick trip to Walmart and less than $20 worth of supplies and my imagination got to work.

So I know with my original post for my Disneyland Party How To Series, I said a week’s worth of posts. Well, I wasn’t kidding around, you’re going to get a whole lot more before this is over! I just didn’t anticipate some issues popping up that kept it from being a solid week straight. […]
Welcome back to the second day of my Disneyland Party Series! Today I’m sharing with you the adorable Disney birthday outfit I made for H for his first birthday party. I had originally searched Storenvy and Etsy for costumes, fearing I wouldn’t have the time or the patience to craft one of my own. However, […]

It’s time for another Pretty Printables!! I’m in the midst of finalizing plans and decorations and things for my soon-to-be 5yo’s upcoming birthday party, so I thought I’d offer up a printable invitation for you! Yes, we had originally been planning for another Avengers Party per his request, but shortly after I did all my fun […]

Anyone reading this blog for longer than a minute will figure out that I am a girl who enjoys her vino. Red, white, bubbly, and even the rare occasion of pink; doesn’t matter! As long as it is delicious, I’m in. So how ridiculous is it that a connoisseur such as myself is lacking in […]
