First Stop in the Hop – You’re Here!
In the spirit of a true blog hop, each post will lead you to the next one, until you circle all the way back to where you began. When you’ve finished, you’ll have 25 new craft and recipe ideas for the Christmas season, all based off of beloved (and perhaps new!) Christmas films.
For me, Santa Claus is Coming to Town is a MUST WATCH every year. Never mind that I love Mickey Rooney, but I grew up with this Rankin Bass classic and it always takes me back to my childhood.
I love everything about this endearing classic. I love how they explain the origin of Santa Claus with such clever ideas – and of course the Burgermeister Meisterburgers! One of my favorite characters was The Winter Warlock, whose icy exterior melts with love. So my take on one of my favorite Christmas films is to make Winter Warlock Pretzel Chocolate Bark – nice and wintery!
This is a super easy recipe, and requires little to no time at all. My family taste tested and heartily approved, so you should rank highly at all winter family functions!
Winter: You mustn’t mind the tree monsters. Their bark is worse than their bite. Ha ha ha ha!
Here’s what you Need
Melting Chocolate in White and Blue
Pretzel Sticks, crushed and broken
Coconut flakes
First, melt the white and blue chocolate. I find 30 second intervals to work well, but I also add a drizzle of coconut oil to the chocolate before melting. TRUST ME. It helps.
You can use a cookie sheet, or even a paper plate, so long as you spray it with cooking spray. Lay a nice layer of the white choocolate and the drizzle the blue chocolate. You can use a spoon or toothpick to swirl the colors. Sprinkle pretzel pieces and coconut flakes, then freeze for an hour and you are all set!!
Now for the next stop on the hop!! Check out Alli from An Alli Event, sharing a delicious recipe inspired by The Santa Clause.
