I am almost sorry for all of you about to read this post. I’m going to share with you something utterly horrifying and gross, and hope that you will still continue reading.
I’m sharing my Master Bath.
Well, more specifically I’m sharing my GROSS master bath. See, as I’ve been redoing our powder room and nursery and kid rooms and whatnot, I’ve neglected our master bed and bath. Not only in decor, but just in general.
I always focus on the rooms other people will see, so I tend to ignore the space I see everyday. How gross is that!? I’m normally such a clean freak, but I get so tired keeping the everyday rooms like kitchen and living room clean that I skate past my own. When I finally took a good look – EW!!!
So this I decided to do a
I sincerely apologize to all of you for what you are about to see.
Basically, I just threw things in here. I put up a shelf shortly after we moved in, but we basically just throw folded towels onto it haphazardly until they are needed. I made cute wooden boards with hooks for our robes, but in the mess that is our master bath, they are function without style. :/
Now, the lack of storage or organization is only one problem. I have long hair, and a horrific shedding problem. (God love my Roomba, Rosie!). With a cat, a dog, and my own hair, things can get gross pretty quick. Avert your eyes if you prefer!
I can’t even tell you how much the photo doesn’t do justice to the gross of these baseboards, and the floor.
I have to assume these stains (which are under the robes/towels) come from water down the paint. ?
It isn’t limited to the floor, sadly. Our sinks and counters were just as gross. Seriously, I’m so disturbed by what I didn’t notice on a daily basis!
Enter Mr. Clean and Jonathan Scott from The Property Brothers!!
Mr. Clean and home renovation expert, Jonathan Scott hosted today the brand’s first-ever Moving Institute to showcase the ways the Magic Eraser and Concentrated Multi-Surface Cleaner can be used to give a home a 15 Minute Renovation #15MinReno
First of all, Mr. Scott was all the incentive I needed to enjoy this campaign. Yum! 😉
I received this awesome basket of cleaning goodies in the nick of time. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle, and a sweet screwdriver and tape measure from Stanley. I kinda like that now I have my own mini tool kit, and can leave my husband’s alone. 🙂
Look at the difference from one side to another, just from the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and Liquid Muscle!
INSANE!
Gotta love the shine! So much better than toothpaste grime.
But let’s face it, we needed some decor changes as well as cleaning in here.
Nothing crazy, just utilizing cabinets for most of the junk on the counter, and bringing in some decor pieces.
The towels barely fit on that shelf anyway, so I relocated them to the dead space by our sunken tub and made it more of a decor shelf. We had not yet found a home for this amazing canvas print we’d had made up from a “winter wonderland” photo shoot we had done years ago.
I had these bamboo containers not doing much elsewhere, so I decided to create a little spa area behind the tub. I’m not much of a bath person, but I do like the spa setting and easy access to basic grooming essentials like Q-tips and cotton balls!
The relocated towels, plus a vase I’ve always loved but had found no home for in our new space. Eventually I want a complete renovation on the mag scale. I want new fixtures and lights and to GET RID OF THAT TUB and expand the shower and – well, let’s just say it needs work.
At least for now, it is a MUCH prettier and cleaner space to be in. And all in a #15MinReno!
