I had a lot of fun a few years ago, making my Dollar Store St. Patrick’s Day Wreath. So after the fun of our Valentine’s Day Blog Hop, I thought it would be fun to have another for St. Patty’s! My project ended up being a St. Patrick’s Day sign. 🙂
I grabbed an Easter sign, some foam shamrocks, green twine, and green fake carnations.
First order of business was peeling off the “He is Risen” portion of the burlap on the Easter sign. I left the cross, since it looked Celtic-ish.
I painted over the pink glitter cross in a green paint I already owned.
Since the missing burlap left some glue marks, I wrapped it in the green twine to cover them and create a new landscape for my sign.
A piece of tape secured the start of my twine, and I wrapped it round and round and secured it again.
I used hot glue to secure both carnation buds and chipboard letters (that I already owned, so didn’t cost me, but you can still get for cheap at Michaels) to the sign to finish it off. I didn’t even end up using the shamrocks, but I’m sure I can find something to use them on elsewhere. 🙂
Part of me wants to add a cursive “blessings” beneath “irish”, but I ran out of time. Could work either way. 🙂
