End Table Refresh for May
Welcome back to another Furniture Refresh!! Feels sometimes like all I do is refinish furniture. . . that isn’t even mine. LOL.
Well, at least I’m a happy helper. 😀
So I’ve had this table sitting around for a few months. A flea market steal, I think I paid $15 for it. It sat in the garage, then served to block the baby from crawling behind the couch for a while. The hubby HATED IT. I mean, like really hated it. So I moved it to my office/craft room and let it collect junk for a while.
I did have “before” pictures, the table by itself. Since it took me forever to do anything with the stupid thing, I can’t find them now. :/ So here is a before shot, shortly before I finally got to work on it.
All crafters are guilty of procrastination. FACT.
I hate sanding, but this one required it. I yanked out the orbital sander and got to work. There were plenty of soft nicks and dings that required smoothing. It didn’t take much effort at least to smooth them down.
I don’t normally, but I did use a primer on this piece. I followed it up with two coats of black chalk paint.
My BFF had a coffee table she wanted me to match. . .
She had someone else make over the table (silly girl) so I tried to match best I could. The chalk paint came out more gray than black, so I added on one layer of black trim paint for added measure before sanding a few “distressed” areas.
I didn’t get to find new knobs in time. :/ DIY life. But at least she’ll have time to find what she loves. (Compensating)
So far, she loves it! Check out the rest of the amazing refreshes below and share the love!
