The leaves are turning, and fall is just around the corner. That means it’s time to bring a little autumn warmth into our homes—starting with the dining table. Decorating for the season can be such a fun way to shake off the summer slump, and it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.
This year, I wasn’t quite ready to haul out all my autumn decor from storage. Instead, I opted for a little light shopping to find a few fresh pieces to add to my collection. Anyone else love treating themselves to a couple of new seasonal decor items? It’s such an easy way to keep things feeling fresh while slowly building up your stash over the years.
Fall Decor Favorites from Wayfair
When it comes to home decor, Wayfair is always one of my go-to spots. They have a great selection, and it’s easy to find pieces that fit your style without breaking the bank. Here are a few items that caught my eye from their fall collection this year:
Pumpkins and Pine Cones Fall Garland
Each of these pieces adds just the right amount of autumn charm, whether you’re decorating your dining room, entryway, or even a cozy corner of the living room.
My Dining Table Transformation
While I had grand plans to decorate both my dining table and front door this year, the weather wasn’t exactly on my side. (Ninety-five degrees one day, pouring rain the next—fall in the Midwest, am I right?) So, I decided to focus on the dining table for now, and I have to say, I love how it turned out.
I thought the garland might actually make a nice centerpiece on my long dark wood dining room table – I think I was right!
1. Pumpkins and Pine Cones Garland as a Centerpiece
I originally picked up this garland thinking it would be perfect for the front door, but once I saw it on my dark wood dining table, I knew it belonged there. The natural textures and warm colors add so much seasonal charm without feeling too overdone.
2. Adding a New Pumpkin Jar to My Collection
Over the years, I’ve collected a few ceramic pumpkins, and this new pumpkin jar from Wayfair fits right in. It’s the perfect size for a centerpiece and blends beautifully with my existing decor. I haven’t brought out the rest of my pumpkins yet, but I’m already planning to spread them around the house to bring some fall vibes to other rooms.
3. Plaid Napkins for a Cozy Touch
The Dunmore Plaid Woven Napkins were an easy addition to make the table feel more put-together. I love how something as simple as a well-chosen napkin can elevate the whole look without much effort.
Simple Tips for Decorating Your Autumn Table
Decorating an autumn table is not difficult to do, and it can add so much to your home decor when you are ready for the season. I wasn’t sure I was ready to let go of summer, but I’m getting excited for the cooler fall breezes and rich autumn colors.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Shop Smart: Add one or two new pieces each year to build your collection over time without feeling overwhelmed. Look for items that can mix and match with your existing decor.
Play with Layers: Combine garlands, candles, and small decorative items like pumpkins to create a centerpiece with depth and texture.
Use What You Have: If you already have seasonal decor, try using it in new ways. Move items between rooms or mix different textures and materials for a fresh look.
Embracing Autumn Vibes
I’ll admit it—I just wasn’t sure I wanted to kiss the summer adieu. But now that my table is dressed for the season, I can feel myself getting excited for cooler breezes, rich autumn colors, and maybe even a pumpkin spice latte or two (don’t judge). Decorating an autumn table is such an easy way to set the mood for the season, and it instantly makes your home feel warm and inviting.
I have been busy making pumpkins from upcycled $1 GW clothes. Such fun. NOW I need to go out in the yard and find a bunch of dead sticks to trim up for stems as I used up the grapevine branches I had cut! They look so great mixed in with ceramic, glass, and styrofoam pumpkins and gourds! Love your table runner; my poor table is chronically covered in craft projects!
I’m fortunate to have a separate room for crafting, but trust me it is still a mess!!! This table formerly was covered with an array of serving dishes and party supplies from my son’s bday last month, haha! I would love some grapevine branches!
I’ve been assessing my “stash” and deciding what stays and what goes … and what I need to get. Love your new items! happy almost Fall!
Thanks! I’ve departed with some of my “stash” over time, as it breaks or becomes outdated. One or two new things a year works for me!
I love your fall tablescape it came out charming.
