Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C’mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.
Let’s meet this month’s bloggers!!

I’ve been working on my 2020 reading list since….well, the start of 2020 to be frank. Confession: I’m still on my first book.
This is not the book’s fault by any means! I’m reading I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara, and it is fantastic! I’m just so busy juggling work, blogging, parenting, and now homeschooling. 🙁 Finding time to sit and read without just falling straight to sleep proves challenging.
Since I dive in and out of my book with so many time gaps between reading, I’m constantly trying to figure out where I last left off. This month’s destash challenge gave me the perfect chance to make myself a bookmark! I’ve been wanting to make my own yarn pom poms for various projects for a while, so I thought a fun pom pom bookmark would be a nice quick craft! I already had the yarn in my stash, so this cost me nothing!
How to Make A Pom Pom Bookmark
Supplies Needed:
Yarn
Scissors
Step One: First, you need to make your pom pom! Take your yarn and wrap it repeatedly around your fingers. I’m sure you could use more fingers, but I used two. Wrap it over and over until you have the size pom you want.
Step Two: Slide the wrapped yarn off your fingers and pinch it in the center. Tie a second string of yarn around the center, crosswise to the wrapped ball.
Step Three: Take a third string of yarn, long enough to hang slightly out of your book, and tie it to the center string.
Step Four: Take your scissors on either side of the center and snip the ends. Then fluff! Voila! You have made a pom pom!
You can tie extra strings to the center, wrap the long end in decorative paper to stiffen it, or leave as is! I was pulled away by arguing children, so mine stayed as is. But there’s lots of different ways you can add to this!
Now that you know how easy it is to make a Pom Pom Bookmark, let’s see what everyone else was inspired to create!
What a fun book mark! So fun and colorful, great destash, and thanks for sharing
Such a cute idea and so simple to whip up! Pinned.
What a cute way to mark your place! And I’m not much of a reader so 1 book so far this year sounds plenty to me!
Cute bookmark, Megan! These are fun!
Such a cute idea! I like the pops of color in your pom pom.
Cute idea!
