I was inspired to "fake" this farmhouse style vase by all the old milk cans I wish I owned!

It’s a New Year and a new Thrift Store Decor Upcycle Challenge! We took a few months off for the holidays, but we are back to show you more upcycled thrift ideas! This time we have joined forces with even more bloggers and have tons of thrifty upcycle ideas to get those wheels spinning.

Do you all have an obsession with farmhouse style/Joanna Gaines/milk cans?  WELL I DO.

My mom has old crocks and one vintage milk can in her decor stash, and I drool every time. I even added a bunch to my Amazon wish list! So it was no small wonder that my upcycle this month was inspired by my desired for a milk can!

I’ve had this vase lying around for a while, and it occurred to me that it was quite the perfect shape for a “fake” farmhouse style milk can!

Break out the paint!

Supplies

White chalk paint

Twine

I used Americana Deco Art white chalk paint for this project. A few layers on the glass was all it took! Be sure to use their creme wax on top for added protection against chips and scratches.

I used a length of twine and double looped it around the neck, pressing it into still slightly wet paint to adhere the knot.

Well, THAT was simple. I like the simplistic, rustic appeal of it. Not going to lie, I still want a milk can or two, but this vase is MUCH more appealing now than its clear version ever was!
