Ok, I get that it’s September and everyone is all “pumpkin spice all the things“. . . . but I still have some holdovers from summer that I am really enjoying – and this mango pineapple smoothie is definitely on that list. Before I can share with you, however, I have a confession to make. . .
I’m getting tired of coffee.
Eek! Gasp! Horrors! I know, I know, it’s just terrible. Lately I just have not been feeling that urge for caffeine in the morning. I down a giant glass of water and then I’m all about the smoothies. I might need to blame a cleanse I did recently, but I’m definitely not sorry!
Early in the summer I started freezing tons of fruit for morning smoothies; pineapple chunks, apple slices, strawberries, blueberries, etc. I also invested in a few bags of frozen fruits, one being frozen mango chunks. After looking up on Pinterest the best combinations for – erm, digestive issues, I found that pineapple is a great detox and digestive fruit.
Okay, okay, so I probably let all those summer bbqs get the best of my gut – and my liver – and I needed some help. But I promise this mango pineapple smoothie DID make me feel better post bloat-fest!
With frozen fruit and a stock of vanilla protein powder, you can easily make this mango pineapple smoothie for breakfast! I love to make one while getting my boys together for school, then make a proper (second) breakfast after dropping them at school and hitting the gym. On non-gym mornings, this sustains me until a late morning snack or even lunch!
