The classic Manhattan cocktail recipe can be easily made at home with Jack Daniels whiskey and garnished with boozey cherries.
It’s time again for our Movie Monday Challenge!
On the last Monday of each month, I challenge a group of bloggers to participate in a #MovieMondayChallenge! We decide on a topic, genre, or specific movie to use for inspiration and everyone gets free reign to create something wonderful!
This month’s challenge was. . . . Fall Movies. Everyone was allowed to choose their own favorite Fall themed film for this challenge.

For my film, I chose Scent of a Woman, starring Al Pacino.
I have always loved this movie. It’s a drama with many darkly comedic elements, and some of the greatest scenes in film history. If you’ve never seen it, here’s a brief synopsis:
“Frank is a retired Lt Col in the US army. He’s blind and impossible to get along with. Charlie is at school and is looking forward to going to university; to help pay for a trip home for Christmas, he agrees to look after Frank over Thanksgiving. Frank’s niece says this will be easy money, but she didn’t reckon on Frank spending his Thanksgiving in New York.” – Amazon
On top of some of the most beautiful fall scenes in New York and brilliant acting on behalf of both Pacino and Chris O’Donnell, there are plenty of recurring themes in the film; notably, Frank’s affinity for whiskey.
“I want it wall to wall with John Daniels!” “Don’t you mean Jack Daniels?”
“He may be Jack to you, son, but when you’ve known him as long as I have. . . “
Given Frank’s kinship with Jack Daniels and the beautiful New York setting, I was inspired to create a Jack Daniels Manhattan cocktail. We are big whiskey fans in our house, though I’m not sure we’ve ever used Jack Daniels in our Manhattans before.
If you’ve never indulged, the Manhattan cocktail is a classic drink recipe, smooth and delicious. You can substitute orange flavored bitters for normal bitters for even more flavor! Top it off with a maraschino cherry and twist of lemon, and you are good to go.
A Manhattan by nature is very alcohol-forward, so please drink responsibly.

My husband always refers to this movie at “Smelly Woman.” He thinks he’s funny…
I feel like I’ve been living under a rock for this movie challenge. So many movies that I haven’t seen and this is another one! Maybe I’ll have to make your Manhattan and watch it 🙂 BTW – when I think you link is broken in the Inlinkz.
