Welcome to Part Two of my recap of sailing the seas with an amazing group of designers and bloggers!
No joke, after the private beach party, we ended up drenched and slopping through puddles to get back to the boat. Or rather, running through puddles back to the boat.
That evening was our VIP Blogger event with the Brothers. Hosted by Lug , it basically was a Q&A/trivia contest. We ended up sitting with a few friends we’d made on the trip, designers who’d been invited by the Scott Brothers after long association on their projects. Shawn of Chinnick & Co and her amazing daughter have worked with the brothers several times, and were super sweet & friendly!
Lug had graciously sponsored bags for all of us bloggers as part of the trip, but an extra bag was donated to anyone who answered a correct question during our fun V.I.P. event. Guess who won the first round!?
YEAH, THAT WAS ME.
After correctly answering who won on Brother Vs. Brother, I was handed a new Lug bag by Jonathan Scott. It became the perfect baby bag, and I love to remind my husband that Jonathan Scott personally handed me this bag. That doesn’t really carry much weight with the hubs, but it is still fun to say. 😉
During our VIP trivia event/meet and greet, my new friend Shawn and I made a quick trip to the ladies’ room, accompanied by Shawn’s friend Linda – who happens to be Drew Scott’s girlfriend. The three of us were headed down the corridor from the lounge to the restrooms, when suddenly we were ambushed from behind – by Drew Scott.
Ha, it was such a shock to suddenly have someone come up behind you and throw his arms around your little group – even more so for that person to turn out to be Drew Scott! He was absolutely the sweetest, and we had a nice chat while walking. He was very interested in hearing how I was enjoying the trip, and adorably concerned about how their “guests” were enjoying themselves. He needn’t have worried, and I told him so. I also joked that he and Jonathan must be exhausted by now (neither of them had much of a voice left), and he admitted it was a LOOOOONG cruise, but totally worth it. They really care so much about all of their fans.
I had left my phone with the BFF, since I’d only been headed to the bathroom – so Drew’s girlfriend Linda graciously snapped this pic of us on her phone and sent it to me. So I got my photo opp after all!
Thursday was a day at sea. For the Besty and me, it was mostly relaxing, meeting up with our new friends, and checking out more designer panels.
I was inspired by Jillian Harris’ fab hat look, and grabbed one for myself. 😉 Besty did too.
The Brothers enjoyed a fun bout of Sibling Rivalry on the Lido Deck, to the delight of the crowd. Sadly, Drew lost. . . and paid the penalty. . .
Kudos to our “adopted father” Tracy for snagging this epic pic of Drew taking the plunge.
So, my memory is a little fuzzy here – my pictures say we saw the brothers do their Hasbro game night on Thursday, but the itinerary says Tuesday.
This is why you don’t wait six months to blog about stuff. . .
The brothers were hysterical and reminded me so much of me and my brother with their constant digs and jabs at each other, all in good fun.
Also featured that night was the featured artist, Jared Emerson. This was his second amazing painting, all done right in front of the crowd, and auctioned off in the Scott Shop on board.
Later that night, we met back up with our new friends Tracy and Kim and enjoyed the Movie Night/Pajama Party – hosted in onesies by those wacky brothers.
I can honestly say that if they offer a Sailing With The Scotts Design Cruise again, I am ALL ABOUT IT. It was just such a fun experience, and I loved gleaning insight from their extra talented guests. I’ve got my eyes on my email for another invite!! 🙂
