I know I’ve been absent for a while, and I apologize. This has been a crazy year, and I have been unmotivated to continue my blog while working full time and dealing with children at home during such unprecedented times. You know what helped me through quarantine??
THIS PAINTING.
I was so thrilled to be presented with this opportunity to choose a paint by numbers of my choosing. As a long life Anglophile (check out my Union Jack table), I naturally chose the “Big Ben By Night” option for my choice. I couldn’t wait to start painting this beauty.
It took a few months, being slightly tedious and intricate as a painting, but it was a wonderful experience. The cathartic experience of just dialing down and deep into painting the tiny pockets of color was soooooo satisfying. I would recommend this to anyone suffering from anxiety. I absolutely loved the release of being able to “Bob Ross” little dabs of paint onto a canvas and be able to release the woes of the day. Plus, London!
I love London and England in general. I’ve been obsessed with the history of the country for years. So this was a great fit for me. If you are interested in paint by numbers, I highly recommend Winnie’s Picks. They have a lovely array of options, from basic to advanced. Could be a nice art project for your kids? Could be a nice escape for yourself? Doesn’t matter! Lose yourself in the art! It is SO RELAXING.
I won’t say it goes quickly, even during quarantine. However, the process of paint by numbers is so very satisfying as a quiet, relaxing hobby. I think a few extra paint brushes wouldn’t hurt however, on such a long paint project. I used painters tape to secure the canvas to my crafting table behind my desk. So nice to just swivel away from my email for a few minutes and zen into painting for a mental break. The canvas is great quality, nice thickness.
Guys, I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this project, and I love that I now have a new piece of art to adorn my home. My main floor has sort of a travel theme, as I’ve hung multiple scenic photographs from our various travels throughout our main living space. This is perfect! I ended up hanging it on the one blank wall in our kitchen, and I can’t stop looking at it.
If you want to try your hand at this lovely, relaxing craft (and I personally think you should!), be sure to use promo code CMONGETCRAFTY on the website Winnie’s Picks and grab your own paint by numbers kit!
