The iconic red and white Santa-esque costumes from the final number of the film proved to be the perfect inspiration. There’s just something so striking about red and white for Christmas!
Additionally, I found myself thinking about the Snow, Snow, Snow! scene on the train to Vermont. Snow is such a central theme to the movie, how could I not depict it somehow?
Well, the idea of red and white and snow led me straight to peppermint and white chocolate! For the very first 25 Days of Christmas Movies Blog Hop, I was inspired by blue and white to create a chocolate bark recipe. This year, I opted for a boozy Christmas drink recipe instead – a White Chocolate Peppermint Rimmed Martini!!
Any holiday party would be a good excuse to serve these delicious and festive martinis! You can easily rim the glasses ahead of time and keep in the refrigerator until party time. Then just mix and serve!!
White Chocolate Martini with Peppermint Rim
- 1.5 oz vanilla vodka (make it a “mocktail”!)
- 1.5 oz white chocolate liqueur or syrup
- splash of heavy whipping cream
- candy canes, crushed
- white candy melts (for rimming the glass)
Melt the white chocolate in microwave on 30 second intervals to avoid burning, then use to rim the martini glass. Before the chocolate cools, top the rim with crushed candy cane. Mix together the vodka, liqueur, and heavy cream in shaker over ice, then strain into martini glass.
This white chocolate martini tastes like Christmas in a glass!! The peppermint rim compliments the creamy white chocolate perfectly without overpowering.
Be Sure to check out the movies and inspirations from the rest of the hosts!! #25DaysofChristmasMovies
