You can throw a beautiful Mother’s Day Brunch with these few easy ideas and some delicious Apple Honey Brie Crostini!
Last year, my husband and I hosted a Mother’s Day Brunch for our moms, and we tried to make it as fancy as we could, for being in our kitchen. We don’t normally go too crazy for Mother’s Day, but last year we decided to make it special. We pulled out the fancy plates and dishes, the champagne glasses for my Shelby Bellini, and some fun fancy – but EASY – eats!
Here are a few of the ideas we came up with for our Mother’s Day Brunch!
-
Breakfast Bar in a Basket – We covered a basket tier with linen napkins and filled it with bagels, crostini, and fruit on the top.
- Fruit platter – because, well, duh!
- Use the fancy plates – Seriously, what are you waiting for?
- Always add flowers! A bouquet and centerpiece are vital to creating a pretty space.
This photo was early in my set up, so missing glasses and silverware, but you get the gist! I found these pretty white plates with a silver lining at GOODWILL! I know, right!? You can find so many great dishes and things there.
Add a touch of whimsy or personality – My youngest made this cute poster at daycare that became part of our decor. Have the kids decorate a poster or use your Mother’s Day cards in your decor!
Mother’s Day Bouquets are great gifts and decor! All three of these bouquets were unique and bright and helped to add to the decor!
Have a nice array of edibles – We served eggs benedict as our main brunch fare, but we added bagels, fresh fruit, my salmon horseradish crostini and a new apple honey brie crostini. There was plenty of brie left so we created a heart of sliced brie!
Honey Apple Brie Crostini
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt to taste
- 1-2 ea granny smith apples, sliced
- 1 log or round Brie
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Slice the French bread and baste slices with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt. Bake in oven at 350 for 5-8 min or until crispy and browned. Meanwhile, slice the apples medium thin and slice Brie to match. The Brie logs are the perfect size for this, but you can also use a round of Brie and adjust your cuts. Top the crostini with apple and Brie slices and drizzle with honey. Tada!
