This past week was Mr. Crafty’s birthday, and we did our best to celebrate him in style. We don’t always have the desire to go all out, so a simple weekend at home relaxing was really all he wanted. But you can’t have a birthday without cake, right?
Mr. Crafty is a choc-o-holic – he loves fudge brownie ice cream, OREOs, and double chocolate cake. I decided to combine his loves into on, creating a double fudge brownie cake and homemade OREO buttercream frosting.
I was surprised how easy this was to make! (And sooooo delicious. . . )
To make your own homemade buttercream frosting, you need only a few simple ingredients; butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
First, beat one stick of softened butter in a bowl.
Slowly add in your powdered sugar, and beat together with the butter. Mix in your vanilla extract.
Add in the milk and beat to the consistency desired for your frosting. Now, you can stop here and enjoy vanilla buttercream frosting – but I wanted OREO frosting, so it was time to crumble some cookies and mix them in.
Beat the cookies crumbles into your frosting. Time to decorate the cake!
Don’t forget to save the recipe below and create your own delicious cake!
What is your favorite dessert?
