Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C’mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies.
Let’s meet this month’s bloggers!!

I’ve done a wreath here and there for crafty projects, but mine are never those gorgeous burlap or tulle pretty wonders you see on Pinterest. I tend to staba and glue until I end up with somethings. I guess we all have our methods!!!
I wasn’t really sure what to do for this month’s challenge. Technically, I have a go-to summer wreath from my Movie Monday JAWS challenge a year or so ago….but I did think I could make a new option as well.
I had a wooden owl cutout (leftover from my Harry Potter Halloween display) and I have a few different sizes of grapevine wreaths. This post cost me ZERO dollars, I’m happy to say. I just dug into all the CRAP I’ve been hoarding for so long!
In the fun idea of a “Whooo’s There” style wreath, I started painting this wooden owl cut white. I think I originally figured I’d use those actual words, but I found these leftover beads in my stash and thought they could be a lot of fun to play with.
Speaking of my stash, I found this purple sarong I bought (and NEVER used) on a trip to Mexico for spring break during college. (Don’t ask how long ago that was.) Since it has served little purpose for this long, I decided to wrap it on the wreath for the color I was going for.
The beads have been sitting in my drawers for I don’t know how long. I used my hot glue gun to secure them to my wooden owl cutout in a manner of feathers, eyes, and beak.
I used the hot glue gun to secure my loose flowers to the grapevine wreath as well. I basically stuck the flowers in, glued them down. and continued.
Ok, this is hard to admit for a crafty person, let alone a crafty blogger WRITING THIS POST – BUT. I am not in love with this final result. And that’s actually ok!!!
I have never failed to share my fails. I have messed up more of my crafty ideas than I can count! This one wasn’t as bad as the others, but still… I don’t love it.
And that’s ok!
Sometimes you have great concepts, great designs….and they just don’t work out. And no offense of course to anyone who likes it! (Thank you if so!) I just don’t feel like I did my best work here.
Regardless, I have a whole bunch of talented peeps who DO make some awesome creations from their stash, so please check out below!!!
So adorable and you used so much of your craft stash items! Great project.
