These no bake “Chewie” chocolate pretzel wookie cookies are the perfect addition to any Star Wars party or movie night! Did you know that this May is the FORTIETH anniversary of the original Star Wars???
Ok, am I seriously the only one geeked out by that? I didn’t think so.
I’m too young (haven’t said THAT in a while) to have seen it premiere, but I definitely grew up on Star Wars, and the original trilogy is a family tradition. So it was essentially a no-brainer to suggest it for this month’s #MovieMondayChallenge.

I admit, I tried REALLY REALLY hard to come up with something for R2D2, or C-3PO, as they are my personal favorites from the first movie, Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Sadly, my brain instantly thought “Wookie Cookie!” and I couldn’t get past it.
Then I – non-baker-extraordinaire – had to determine exactly how to create a “Wookie Cookie”. I mean….what the heck is a wookie cookie??
Thankfully, Pinterest came to my rescue. Follow me here!
I combined elements of various oatmeal chocolate no bake cookies and birds nest ideas to create my own “Wookie Cookie”. Enjoy!
Wookie Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips I used dark chocolate for mine
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
- 1 1/2 cups Quaker Oats
Instructions
- Melt butter in saucepan and stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add in coconut, pretzels, and oats and stir to coat. Let cool. Spoon onto wax paper and freeze for 20 min or until hardened. Enjoy!
I like that my version of “Wookie Cookie” includes pretzels, since I am all for added salt, ha! I think the texture of the cookie looks similar to Chewbacca’s fur, so feel free to borrow this recipe for your next Star Wars party! Chewie is third in line of my favorite characters, so I’m happy to have used him as inspiration for my #MovieMondayChallenge post. 🙂

It’s spelled “Wookiee”.
