It’s summertime and that means summer blockbusters! This month we decided to all be challenged by the same movie: Avengers Infinity War! We are a superhero family for sure (you can find my DIY Thor’s Hammer and our Marvel inspired Halloween DIY costumes here), and I would say that despite a few DC leanings like my DIY Batman Chalkboard table or Batman sandwiches, we are pretty Marvel heavy.
That being said, I’m glad my husband and I saw this movie without our boys, since I believe it is WAY too dark for them. I loved it – any movie that I leave the theater and have questions and intrigues is a winner! – but it would have been far to scary for my kids, IMO.
Even though I didn’t find Avengers Infinity War to be a great fit for my 2 boys under 8, we are always up for a good movie night! Most of the time our movie nights are pretty basic, but I decided to spruce it up with some sweet and salty snacks – and thus my Avengers Infinity War Pretzel Popcorn Crunch was born!
How to Make Avengers Infinity War Pretzel Popcorn Crunch
- 2 cups air-popped popcorn, or 1 microwaveable bag of popcorn
- Wilton candy melts in red, blue, yellow, orange, and green
- Pretzel snaps
- 1 bag of M&Ms
- parchment paper
- Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees. Lay out the pretzel snaps on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
- Lay a candy melt center on the pretzel snap. Pop into the oven for 3 minutes until candy is softened. Press M&M into the softened candy melt and freeze until firm.
- Meanwhile, either microwave or air pop popcorn. Melt more candy melts of each color in ziploc or piping bags.
- Mix popcorn with pretzel candy melts and pipe colored chocolate over it. Enjoy!!
My boys had a lot of fun making this snack, and I love any excuse to get them into the kitchen. This is a great family friendly activity that doubles as a sweet and salty snack!!
