Summer is such a bright, cheerful time of the year, and it means different things to different people. For me, summer means bbqs, campfires, the smell of freshly cut grass, and . . . birthday party prep. Both of my boys have summer birthdays, and it seems just when I finish planning and executing the first one, it’s time for the next party planning. Most of the time our movie nights are fairly basic, the typical popcorn sort of deal. Every now and then, though, I like to make it a little more special – and a new movie is a great excuse for a little something extra. I grabbed some necessities for a delicious sweet and salty snack bar – Ghostbusters themed of course!
Normally when we have a boys sleepover at our house, we just rely on the basement playroom and various toys to keep the kids occupied until closer to bedtime when we usually go the movie-and-popcorn route. Since it was a sleepover/birthday party, I decided to make things a little more festive. A quick trip to Walmart and less than $20 worth of supplies and my imagination got to work.
