A few years ago, I posted my Christmas Craft Fair goodies. I intended to post a DIY tutorial on how I made my Wine Cork Reindeer Ornament, but I never did!
Shame on me!
It’s a little late, but I’m finally getting around to it – with a little incentive by participating in a Blog Roundup of Handmade Ornaments!
PSST – I use affiliate links on my website, from Amazon as well as others – this means if you click my links, I may earn a little money at no cost to you! I appreciate your support of my blog, and if you have questions, you can see my disclosure policy here. Thank you!!
I figured my DIY Wine Cork Reindeer would make a cute submission to the roundup.
Step One
Collect three wine corks.
NOTE: This is an excellent reason to have wine. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Step Two
Leave the other two corks intact.
Step Three
Hot glue the two intact corks into the head and body of your reindeer. Take your four halves of the third cork, and glue them at an angle for the legs.
Go ahead and glob it on on the bottom, no one sees that part.
Step Four
Decorate the face!! You can you black head pins like I did on my other reindeer ornament, or googly eyes. I’m kind of favoring the googly eyes. 🙂 Insert a small eye hook to the top of the body and thread a ribbon or hook for hanging.
I glued a red craft gem for the nose, and cut out the antlers from an SVG design – I don’t recall where I got this one exactly, but you can get plenty of free and frugal designs at Creative Fabrica!
Head over and check out some of the other gorgeous submissions!
